Fiction & Essays

Most recently, I wrote short fiction for Bikes, the Universe, and Everything to imagine a universe I’d like to exist in. I’ve written about travel as healing for Ruminate Magazine, pieces on mental health and joyful movement for TWLOHA and Fatventure Magazine. I’ve been included in Creative Nonfiction’s Tiny Truths project, and published in Will Road Anthology and Swallow the Moon.

Poetry

My best creative work happens from being in community with other writers. I’m a member of Undercurrent Writing Workshop, and am an alum of The Heart of It Writing Retreat. My poetry has been published in Preposition: An Undercurrent Anthology, and my poem “Em Dash” was a winner of Button Poetry’s 2021 Short Form contest. By some incredible magic, I was awarded a writer’s residency at the Vermont Studio Center for 2026 and have high hopes to finish my first book.

Scholarship

Before transitioning to creative writing, my thesis on the letters of Edith Wharton was published in the Oakland Journal and won the Writing Excellence Award for Best Literary Criticism.

I write about books, mental health & wellness, and what it means to be human.

They say write what you know. I know about books and libraries, loving and leaving religion, and how creativity and delight keep us afloat.
